These maroon - or dark red - 2009 Cadillac GTS-V models by Hot Wheels were #10 in a series of 44 such models that Hot Wheels put out in 2010. It is rather cute, and I like the skylight in the roof.
I'm in the process of looking for a different used car and if this
one in full-size were available in my price range, I think I would
seriously consider it. Never mind that I've always felt Cadillacs
were for another class of people.
In doing my research I see that the Canadian Amazon.ca is selling this model at a much higher price than the American Amazon.com or even other sites. Do you suppose Canadian appreciate it more?
The auto world was set on notice when Cadillac came out with this new "Art and Science" look in 2002. It looked like a small sport sedan, but it handled like a powerful Corvette with a huge V8! It got even better in 2004 when they produced the CTS-V.
In 2006 they added two more still more powerful Cadillacs to this line, with a Corvette engine under the hood. Discerning people noted that it was quick and sharp at the wheel, but - well, a bit crude yet in the design. The Cadillac designers worked on that, and by 2009 the updated CTS had grown up to be a mid-sized luxury sedan that was both fast and nimble in the handling.
The people who study and test and get super familiar with cars before they enter them in the famed Kelley Blue Book put the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V through all kinds of paces and performance tests, and declared it the most powerful Cadillac ever! It was like a Corvette with the demure and mature look and attitude of a very civilized four-door sedan. It had a quiet, comfortable ride, but if you stepped on the gas it would go from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds! It went on to 118 mph with next to no effort.
The new Magnetic Ride Control practically made it suitable for race-track driving. The steering was precise and responsive even when turning corners at high speeds, and the racing Michelin tires never seemed to get tired at all.
One owner of such a car complained that the fancy hubcabs fell off too frequently, and when they did some of the auto-sensors in the car would be off and have to be recalibrated. Otherwise, it appears the owners are a proud and happy bunch.
Hey, I think you'll enjoy these videos by the Kelley Blue Book people!
