Roy Lee Baker may well have been a baker in his first career, (or that might be his surname), but he was directly involved with manufacturing farm toy models, particularly 1:64 scale. Baker Manufacturing has provided scale model tractors for both the farm toy hobby and the Mid-America Toy Show held annually in St. Louis, Missouri.
Roy Lee Baker, became a gifted designer of toy models of farm machinery in his retirement. There is an interesting article about him making such good replicas of John Deere tractors that the John Deere company's lawyer sent him a cease and desist letter. Later they gave him the very first license to make his models and sell them. Go to This Farm Show magazine article for details.
Google has a lot about Farm Machinery Trade shows, with exciting tractor pulls, etc., but only a few mentions of the Louisville Farm Show of 1992. Perhaps it was taken over by other larger trade shows, I don't know.
Other than that I have not been able to find much about this model with his name and logo on the side of the wagon. It is however, an example of how vehicles are sometimes used to creatively promote some brand. An advertisement like this is seen in many clever ways, and in lots of places. This farm wagon does seem to be the only one of it's kind; that is why I'm placing it here among other promotional models. It could be in the Toy category as well.
The beige/green 1990 Ford pickup F250 makes a good match for towing the wagon, so I give you the option of buying them together as a set for $25, or as stand alone items. This truck is also an option together with another exact same truck model, but in different two-tone colours you can order from this page in the Toys Category: Two-1990-Ford-Pickups.
Oh. Right! Only one price allowed per page. So this one is for buying the wagon only at $5.00 Cdn.
The truck is an option from the page mentioned above in the Toys Category (for your sake I hope it is still available!) But if you go to this page... you can get this wagon and the beige/green Ford Pickup as a set!
