Now fairly rare, this is a vintage 966 Hydro IH small red tractor with a white canopy and a roll-over-bar to prevent deaths. It was a new feature that began to save many lives, for in the past farmers often died when their tractor tipped or fell over, pinning them beneath.

This tractor developed a good reputation for being reliable and serving in many capacities on a farm. Older farmers tell fond stories of they grew up driving this tractor and doing many chores with it. They were also known as Farmall tractors.

Sometimes you can buy an original, though a well-used Hydro tractor at an auction. But they sell quickly.

Even these diecast models, if found in their original box, can go for $125. A used model - with the canopy and in original box was priced at $70. Another one without the canopy, but the Farmall blue box, was going for $290. Notice what a great deal you get here with this one, in excellent condition, for $40. Just no box.
