I have two of these Anhydrous Ammonia tanks by International Harvester in the 1:16 scale. Unfortunately their labels on the sides of the tank are smudged, and cannot be cleaned. So these will sell as unboxed toys. (No problem in the sandbox, right?)
For all their careful attention to detail and that they should have many good years left as toys. They just need to be matched up to one of the many Case or International Harvester tractors coming up to this site.
Anhydrous ammonia is used by farmers as a fertilizer that they put down into the soil ahead of sowing their seeds. This settles in the soil nitrogen and hydrogen (water). However, while in the tank it is a colorless liquid or gas with a pungent odor.
(Oh-oh! That reminds me of when I was stripping my floors with some cleaner that had ammonia in it. By the next morning I had a tremendous pain in my big toes. It was Sunday and I hobbled around using part of a broomstick for a cane. A friend urged me to go to Emergency in the afternoon; I did, and was told that I had gout in my toes. I was given a prescription and told to borrow crutches from someone for a few days. A few days later I was with my friend, Shirley, and we looked gout up in her medical books. Turns out that breathing in ammonia can cause your kidneys to send the crystals it cannot dissolve to your extremities, like hands and feet, where they settle in your joints and cause tremendous pain.)
I hope the farmers are all aware of this, and VERY CAREFUL when working with this as their fertilizer for their fields. I suppose you are perfectly safe if you just keep these models as souvenirs or as toys.
I'll let you have these models for just $6.00 each.
